Breakfast at Avanti’s in Erie PA: My Visit

I eat at Avanti’s every chance I get. This morning was no different and like always it hit the spot. Tucked away on West 8th and Lincoln this place has been part of the neighborhood for decades. Every time I walk in I get that same comforting feeling. It is nothing fancy just clean simple and full of that old school diner charm that makes you feel at home.

Today’s order: I went with the corned beef hash benedict one of my favorites. Forgive the finger swipe my daughter took in the hollandaise (she liked it too). The hash was crispy on the outside tender on the inside and full of rich flavor. The eggs were done just right and the hollandaise was smooth and creamy without being too heavy. Every bite was warm and satisfying like something you would get at a family breakfast. The portions are always generous. I left full but comfortable. The coffee was fresh and my cup stayed filled the whole time thanks to the friendly staff.

Service: The staff is one of the reasons I keep coming back. You can tell they care about what they do. Even when the place is busy they are on top of everything and make sure everyone feels welcome. It really feels like a neighborhood spot where regulars and new faces get treated with the same kindness.

Value: On top of that the prices are more than fair. With how expensive everything is these days it is refreshing to find a place where you can enjoy a great meal without spending a fortune. Between the food the service and the atmosphere it is easy to see why Avanti’s has so many five star reviews.

If you are in Erie and want a spot where the food speaks for itself Avanti’s is it. I already know what I am getting next time maybe the pancakes or the Polish breakfast that everyone seems to love. This place never disappoints.
